When you hear the name “FMS,” the first things that come to mind are usually “insane scale realism” and “crazy details.” So, when I got my hands on this classic FMS F100 car shell, I totally expected another chill, slow-paced trail crawler for scale runs.
Boy, was I wrong! The moment I popped the body off and looked at the chassis, my jaw dropped. FMS has basically built an absolute “sleeper” rig! This 1/10 scale Brushless FMS F100 is going to completely blow your mind and change everything you know about retro RCs.
First off, let’s talk about the looks. Scale fans can still rejoice. Sitting at an impressive 47.6cm long, 33.5cm wide, and 24cm tall, this truck has serious presence just sitting on the workbench. The classic muscle lines of a car shell, paired with a massive 45mm of ground clearance, give it an undeniably hardcore American off-road vibe even when it’s standing still.
But the true soul of this rig lies in its hardcore, bashing-ready specs:
1. The Ultimate Sleeper Power
Don’t let the classic grandpa-truck shell fool you! Under the hood, it’s packing a vicious power system: a 3652 KV3300 Brushless Motor paired with a beefy 60A Brushless ESC. What does that mean? It means the second you pull the trigger, this retro rig is popping wheelies and kicking up massive rooster tails of dirt! The contrast between the vintage look and the raw speed is incredibly addictive.
2. A Monster Chassis Built for Bashing
To handle this brushless power, FMS didn’t hold back on the chassis components.
- Massive Meat: It rolls on huge 130mm x 70mm off-road tires (wrapped around 66x52mm wheels with a standard 14mm hex). Combined with a 164mm track width and a 294mm wheelbase, this thing glides over jumps, tall grass, and gravel like it’s nothing.
- Bulletproof Drivetrain: It features a heavy-duty M0.8 Mod 13T pinion and a 61T spur gear. These thick gears are built to take a beating and survive your worst bash sessions.
- Precision Steering: Out of the box, you get a torquey 15KG steering servo. Even when you’re bogged down in thick mud, those massive front tires will respond quickly and sharply.
3. Total Control from a Distance
Worried about losing control of this beast at high speeds? Don’t be. It comes standard with the highly-rated FlySky FS-G4P-BS transmitter. It offers a super smooth feel, an ultra-stable signal, and a whopping 150 meters (nearly 500 feet) of control range. That’s plenty of room to pin the throttle and let it rip in wide-open spaces!
To sum it up: It has the top-tier scale realism FMS is famous for, but it sits on a brushless monster truck chassis guaranteed to get your adrenaline pumping.
